OKU TIMUR — Saturday, 18/04/2026, second-semester students of the English Education Program (PBI) of Universitas Nurul Huda held an English Club activity at the campus gazebo. This activity marked the first meeting of the program and was guided by senior student mentors: M. Alfin Mubarok (6th semester), Muhamad Rifai (4th semester), Nadya Rahma Dhona (4th semester), Rini Lestari (4th semester), Depi Apriyanti (4th semester), and Jupita Anggela (4th semester). In this session, students learned about British Parliamentary Debate with the aim of improving their speaking and critical thinking skills through group divisions into proposition (pro) and opposition (contra) sides.
During the activity, students were divided into several groups to understand the structure of debate and to develop arguments systematically. Each group was given the opportunity to present their ideas, build arguments, and respond to opposing views in a logical and structured manner. This method encouraged students to be more active and confident in using English.
The activity was conducted in a relaxed yet conducive atmosphere at the campus gazebo. The interactive environment and students enthusiasm made the learning process more engaging and enjoyable. Through this English Club activity, it is expected that PBI students will continue to enhance their communication skills, critical thinking, and confidence in using English in the era of globalization.
